Patrician III – SharewarePatrician II (released in 2000) and Patrician III (released in 2003) are trading simulation games developed by Ascaron Entertainment. These games are set in the Hanseatic League, a commercial league of cities in Northern Europe during the Middle Ages.
In both games, players take on the role of a citizen of a Hanseatic city and attempt to build a successful trading empire by buying and selling goods throughout the League. Players must also manage their finances, hire crew members, purchase ships, and navigate the treacherous waters of politics and rival traders.
Patrician II features a single-player campaign mode with various missions, while Patrician III offers both campaign and free play modes. The games boast extensive historical accuracy and detail, with realistic depictions of medieval cities and trade routes.
